Farms Race from Medium Brow Games was a blast. Literally. We all nuked each other…repeatedly.

Farms Race is a spoof of the popular games Catan and Scythe, with an Orwellian Animal Farm theme, and I am here for it. It’s the same great game you love, but now you can build weapons of mass destruction and wipe your foes from the map, like you always wished you could two hours into a game of Catan!

What I most enjoy is the fun “mutation” system that provides players with various unique buffs. For instance, during my first playthrough I got the “Lucky” mutation, which allowed me to choose the resources I wanted instead of having to roll the dice for them. Talk about powerful!

I don’t play much Catan these days, and having played Farms Race, I think I would choose it over Catan! Sorry Catan…
